Curious about how we’re getting press for the show? It all starts with a press release. If you need a press release, feel free to follow this format. Here’s what we’ve been sending out:
Los Angeles, CA (November 20, 2013)
Writer/Producer/Actress Jean Franzblau unveils the 2014 World Premiere of her sexy play featuring themes of erotic curiosity and empowerment. Based on her own experience of discovery after a painful breakup, the story tracks Franzblau as she gives herself permission to experiment sexually. “It started me on a journey that I just couldn’t stop writing about,” she explains.
When Franzblau learned that there were S&M dungeons in Los Angeles where she lived, she decided to visit one. She was shocked to realize that she had secret desires that only S&M could quench. Franzblau has since come out to family and friends which inspired the show’s title, Coming Out Kinky – A Grown Up Story.
Franzblau collaborated with Director Karen Aschenbach for eighteen months to get the show performance ready. Now they’ve launched a campaign on Indiegogo.com to raise funds for the World Premier. “So far I’ve invested about $12,000 in developing the show,” says Franzblau. “Once the rest of the funding is in place, I’ll pull the trigger and schedule it.”
So far the show has raised over $7,000. For more information and to support the show, go to KinkyJean.com.
Franzblau has been featured on two radio shows:

Andie Lyon’s Loving and Lasting
A portion of every ticket sold will be donated to the new non-profit organization, Sex-Positive World.org. “Sex-positive” is a philosophy of sexuality that emphasizes safety, mutual respect, communication and consent. It also acknowledges and celebrates sexual diversity – the idea that there are many ways to express sexuality. Sex-Positive World.org supports the philosophy that sexuality is a natural, healthy and essential part of life.
Franzblau was surprised that her show has attracted interest from the education and psychology communities. She has been invited to use her show as a presentation for psychology students as part of their human sexuality studies. She’s also been asked to collaborate with a sex therapist to create a class for continuing education for seasoned therapists.
“Ms. Franzblau tells her story of challenging oppressive sexual norms, discovering a true authentic sexual identity, and finding out what it means to be sexually empowered.”
